We should like to be able to tell you that children never misbehave in nursery, but that wouldn’t quite be true!

Every once in a while there is a slightly over enthusiastic push, pinch or unacceptable knock… In these isolated scenarios, we use a “naughty bench” to act as social exclusion, which is normally more than sufficient to correct undesirable behaviour.

In cases where behaviour is continuously unacceptable or where there is an ongoing problem, we will discuss it with the parents to and try to mutually find and agree a plan for a solution.

Bullying has generally not been a problem given the small class sizes, but if there is a hint of such behaviour, we will be quick to address it to ensure that all children feel safe and secure at school.
