Potty-training
Potty-training should be a positive experience for everyone involved. It should only take a short period of time if and when the child is truly ready. Problems arise when adults (parents and teachers) do not pay attention to the child’s lack of readiness. It is equally important that we ensure effective partnership and communication with parents in order to give the child continuity between their home and nursery.
There is no right or wrong age for potty-training a child. No two children will potty-train in exactly the same time frame or even in the same manner.
All visits to the potty will be recorded and during handover, parents will be informed of their child’s progress on that day.
If any child is struggling with standard potty-training techniques, then it will be discussed between the teacher and the child’s parents.
